Visit to the Alzheimer's BRAND NEW CENTRE! - 8th September

The Alzheimer's Group at OSC, led by me and Harini, made a special visit to the new center that I have been mentioning throughout my blog. The organization, under the lead of its founders, Mr. Tamitagama and his wife, Mrs. Lorraine has now completed the construction work to provide the daycare centre for the patients. Although we made a visit before when still under construction, it was a very meaningful and heartwarming to see that the construction work was all completed and now the opening ceremony was awating all of us.

This is our group at the brand new center! We were all happy to see the new center and excited and enthusiastic about different activities we would now be able to do to help in a more advanced and effective way.
This time, we had another special tour, with more furniture and stuff inside the building which made it feel more realistic, by Mr. Tamitagama who kindly led us through, answered our questions about how each facility is going to help the patients. It was really heartwarming to visit and encouraged us to become more active. Unfortunately, we were not able to attend the opening ceremony due to school. However, as proposed, we are now looking forward to carrying out memory tests for the patients, helping them in any other practical ways and we hope to do this on a regular basis as time permits us.
