Reflecting on my performances regarding the CAS during the week starting 4th October, I was in involved in many areas, as stated in the goal:
4th October Monday:
I was invovled in MUN debate sessions after school, which gave us an opportunity to practice our research, organization, communication and debate skills. The debate session was based on the theme of "banning the hijab- should it be legalized?". It was such an interesting topic for me to research during the last few days becasue I knew that there was some sort of lack of understanding in me on women wearing hijabs even though I have been seeing them for a long time ever since I have lived in Sri lanka. I learned that it can also be interpreted as a way for some women to find individualism and discover the sense of identity. The debate was fierce and a successful one.
7th October:
It was my 3rd lesson and surprisingly, I have been progressing pretty well that we started working on our backhand. It was really interesting, ok I'll admit it, confusing at the beginning because the grips and steps were fairly different and my brain does not do well in prosessing symmetrical things. However, after some practice, I understood and felt how I should receive using my backhand and towards the end of the lesson, I managed to hit some balls pretty well.
Piano:
During this week, I have been focusing on working on Chopin's Nocturne and the previous works I have been working on such as Debussy's Tocatta so that I do not lose the sense of them. For next few weeks, I hope to work on more analysis and interpretation and applying them to my performance.
